In our quest to support ALL college and university women and their menstrual health, our Days for Girls SW Boise Chapter has added ISU, ISU-Meridian,
LCSC and U of I food pantries to our growing list of period product donations. We are now covering all menstruators from Pocatello to Moscow and in between! Plus we will be adding ICOM this summer – the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Besides donating period products such as tampons and menstrual pads, we donated washable, sustainable DfG Kits for those women who want a cost-effective solution to manage their menstruation and will also prove eco-friendly. Also donated were Pixie Cups – healthy, safe, reusable menstrual cups that can last up to 10 years!
Each food pantry we have spoken with has shared that food insecurity has risen dramatically on campus over the past 2-3 years. And if there is food insecurity, there is also added stress for women to afford menstrual products. So these donations of period products are vital to helping keep our university women in school.
Our biggest struggle is obtaining enough tampons to donate. If you would like to help, please consider donating under the “Donate” link at the top of the website. We promise we will use that money wisely in supporting girls and women all across our great State of Idaho!
